This is a system-level setting on the reader's device, not a Document360 issue. Preventing DDoS attacks when IP restriction is enabled

Enabling IP restriction provides a layer of access control, but it may not be enough to prevent Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. These attacks flood your system with fake traffic, potentially slowing down or blocking access for legitimate users.

To enhance your protection, combine IP restrictions with additional security measures:

1. Enable IP whitelisting — Allow access only from trusted and known IP addresses. This helps limit exposure and prevents unauthorised access.

2. Use IP blacklisting — Block IP addresses that display suspicious or malicious behaviour, such as repeated failed login attempts.

3. Review and update regularly — Periodically review and update your whitelist and blacklist to stay ahead of evolving threats and usage changes.

4. Leverage a DDoS protection service — Use services like Cloudflare, AWS Shield, or Azure DDoS Protection. These tools detect and block high-volume attack traffic before it reaches your infrastructure.

FAQ

Why can't a Reviewer add inline comments?

Inline comments are only available after the Reviewer clicks the Start Review button at the top right of the editor. If this step is skipped, the option to add comments will not appear.

Can portal roles, content roles, or reader permissions be updated in bulk for multiple users and readers?

No. Portal roles and content permissions cannot currently be updated in bulk. Permission changes must be made individually for each user or reader account.

For scenarios where multiple users or readers require the same level of access, it is recommended to use User Groups and Reader Groups.

If you have a large number of existing reader accounts that need to be migrated to a new access configuration (for example, moving hundreds of readers from individual-level access to a reader group), self-service bulk reassignment is not currently available. In this situation, contact Document360 support at support@document360.com, and they may be able to assist by checking with the product team about the migration on a case-by-case basis.
