FullStory

FullStory is a user-experience intelligence tool for analyzing user data. It helps product and marketing teams understand how users interact with a site by monitoring clicks, page transitions, and session recordings. FullStory includes real-time analytics features such as retention tracking, funnels, and Magic-moments, a feature that surfaces ready-made recording sessions for quick review.

Integrating FullStory with Document360 lets you track and view all your knowledge base site analytics and user behavior in the FullStory dashboard, including segment-based data and online recording sessions.

Before you begin

• You need a FullStory account.
• You need your FullStory ID. See How to find your FullStory ID below.

How to find your FullStory ID

Your FullStory ID is a unique code obtained from the FullStory application. It is required to connect FullStory with Document360.

If you are an existing FullStory user:

1. In the FullStory dashboard, click the workspace name dropdown in the top left corner and select Settings.
2. On the Settings panel, go to the FullStory Setup section.
3. Under Install your FullStory snippet, locate the FullStory ID. It appears as:

panel['_fs_org']

If you are a new FullStory user:

Your FullStory ID is shown during the onboarding setup after you create your account.

How to integrate FullStory with Document360

1. In the Document360 portal, navigate to Connections () > Integrations () in the left navigation bar.

2. Select FullStory from the list of integrations and click Add. The Add new integration panel appears.

3. Choose a configuration type:

   Basic configuration: sets up a standard integration using your FullStory ID.

   • Description: enter a description for this integration.
   • FullStory ID: enter your FullStory ID.

   Custom configuration: sets up an advanced integration with custom events added to a snippet code.

   • Description: enter a description for this integration.
   • Snippet code: paste your custom snippet code.

4. Optionally, expand Code inclusion/exclusion conditions to control when the integration runs based on IP address, Workspace, or Language.

5. Click Add.

After setup, open your FullStory account to view segment-based analytics, track knowledge base site activity, and review user behavior in the FullStory dashboard.

Best practices

• Use Basic configuration unless you need custom event tracking. Entering your FullStory ID under Basic configuration is sufficient for most knowledge bases and automatically starts capturing session recordings and page transitions.
• Use Magic-moments to spot trends quickly. FullStory's Magic-moments feature surfaces ready-made recording sessions, so you can review user behavior without manually filtering through all session data.
• Use Code inclusion/exclusion conditions to filter out internal traffic. Add your office IP address as an exclusion to keep team visits out of your analytics data.
• Check retention and funnel reports after publishing major updates. FullStory's real-time analytics let you see whether content changes are improving reader engagement or contributing to drop-off.
