Access denied page
Access denied page appears when a reader with some access permissions in your knowledge base tries to access a Knowledge base site URL to which the reader doesn't have access.
For example, if a reader has access to only a few categories in a mixed knowledge base and tries to access a URL for which the reader doesn't have access permission, the access denied page appears.
Customize the 'Access denied' page of your knowledge base site and provide a descriptive reason with a solution such as 'Contact your admin for access.' This page would allow the readers to understand the cause and solution.
After configuring a custom page, you cannot switch to your default 'Access denied' page. It is recommended to have a custom page to enhance the reader experience.

An "Access Denied" page and an "Unauthorized" page refer to two similar but distinct concepts in the Knowledge base.
An "Access Denied" page is displayed when a user tries to access a resource or a page on a website, but they do not have the necessary permissions to do so. This can happen when a user tries to access a restricted area of a website, such as a protected file or a private section of a website, without the correct credentials.
