Page not found is a sub-feature under the Analytics menu of Document360. This feature shows the list of URLs for which 404-page error is shown after the link is accessed. It helps in replacing this URL with redirecting URL, which can provide the required content and enhance the user experience.
Accessing Page not found
- Click Analytics → Page not found
- The Page not found overview page comes into view
- You can filter the information with User agent type, and Date range at the top of the page
- You can find the list of URLs for which the Page not found error is shown
Page not found overview page
This page shows all the information related to the URLs for which the 404-page error is shown.
1. URL status section
a. Total - The number of URLs for which 404-page error is shown, when the respective link is accessed (for all the User agent types and selected date range)
b. Browser - The number of URLs for which 404-page error is shown, when the respective link is accessed (for the Browser User agent type and date range). For example, the user accesses the link through a browser
c. Bot - The number of URLs for which 404-page error is shown, when the respective link is accessed (for the Bot User agent type and date range). For example, search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo use bots(web crawlers) to index the pages
d. Unknown - The number of URLs for which 404-page error is shown, when the respective link is accessed (for the Unknown User agent type and date range). The Unknown User agent type is neither Browser nor Bot
2. URL Report
Field | Description |
---|---|
URL | The URL for which 404-page error is shown. The count is the number of times the URL has been accessed |
User agent type | This shows the type of access to the URL |
User agent | This shows the hierarchical level of the type of access to the URL |
Date (UTC) | The date on which the URL was accessed |
URL referrer | The URL from which the link was accessed, lead to 404-page error |
3. Filter and Search by
Filter
The filter option available at the top of the Page not found page would come in handy when you have a greater number of URLs. You can filter the URLs based on two parameters: User agent type and date range.
a. User agent type - You can select the User agent type dropdown to filter the URLs by All, Browser, Bot, or Unknown
b. Date range - You can select the default date range dropdown to filter the URLs by date range. You can also manually select the desired date range within the last 30 days
Search by URL
You can use the Search by URL bar to identify the specific URL(s).
4. Export
You can export the URL report into .csv (Excel spreadsheet).
- Click on the Export CSV button
- After a few seconds, the list would be exported and ready for download
- Click on the download icon
- The respective file would be downloaded onto your local storage
- The downloaded file can be accessed using any CSV supported application (Excel, Libre, etc.,)
