The Filter and Export features on the Users page help you manage large user lists efficiently. Use filters to narrow the list by role, status, or account type — then export the filtered results as a CSV for offline record-keeping, access audits, or reporting. There are three buttons found at the top of the list: Filter, Export, and Create.
Why filter and export users
As your project grows, the user list becomes harder to scan manually. Filtering lets you isolate specific subsets — for example, all inactive users, all Contributors, or all SSO accounts — so you can take targeted action without scrolling through the full list. Exporting gives you a snapshot of your current user base that you can share with stakeholders, use for compliance reviews, or retain as a record before making bulk changes such as SSO conversion or deactivation.
Before you begin
- You must have the Owner or Admin project role, or a custom role with Manage users permission.

Best practices
- Apply filters before exporting to keep the CSV focused. Exporting the full unfiltered list on a large project can be difficult to work with in a spreadsheet.
- Use the Status: Inactive filter to identify deactivated users before performing bulk deletions or seat management.
- Use the Account types: SSO User filter to audit which users are already on SSO before running a conversion.
- Export the user list as a CSV before performing irreversible actions such as SSO conversion or bulk deletion. This is the only way to retain a pre-change record of user attribution and roles.
