Adding version and language specific menus

Add additional version and language specific menu items below the global header menu.

  1. Go to Settings, select Navigations under Knowledge base site, and select the Menu tab
  2. Select the project version from the dropdown and select the language you want to add the menu
  3. Click on the + button (Add a new link) to add a menu item

Single level menu

  • As the name implies, it adds a single menu (meaning no sub-menu items under). This will be the default selection when you click on the + button.

  • In the Link name field, type in the text to display on the menu bar

  • In the next field you can either add a hyperlink, an email id, or a telephone number

  • Select the Toggle on/off for the link to be opened in a new tab

Multi level menu

  • This option allows you to add multiple sub-menus under a single dropdown. After you’ve clicked on the + button to add a menu, click on the first field to change to Multi level. In the Link name field, type in the menu name

  • To add sub-menu items, click on the Add sub link button on the right of the menu

  • Similar to adding a single level menu, in Link name field type in the sub-menu name. In the next field you can either add a hyperlink, an email id, or a telephone number. Select the Toggle on/off for the link to be opened in a new tab

  1. Once you’ve added all the menu items, click on the Save button
  2. In order for the menus to appear in your knowledge base you have to turn on the Show menu toggle adjacent to the save button

You can reorder the menu items anytime using the drag and drop action.

  1. Go to Settings, select Navigations under Knowledge base site, and select the Menu tab
  2. Select the project version from the dropdown and select the language for which you wish to reorder the menu
  3. When you place your mouse pointer over the left side of each menu item you can see the mouse pointer change
  4. Click on the dotted area and drag the menu item up or down to place it in the new order
  5. You can also reorder the sub-menus inside a multi level menu
  6. Click on Save button when you’re done

You cannot move a single level menu into a multi level menu or the other way around


Removing a menu or sub-menu

You can easily remove a single level, multi level (entire menu) or sub-menus in multi level menu.

  1. Go to Settings, select Navigations under Knowledge base site, and select the Menu tab
  2. Select the project version from the dropdown and select the language for which you want to remove menu(s)
  3. Click on the Delete icon adjacent to the menu (single level, multi level, or sub-menus in multi level)
  4. Once you’re done click on the Save button at the top
