Article Summary

The Articles - Full portal search acts as a dedicated space to search the entire project's articles and category pages. Perform a combined search across all the versions and languages simultaneously.


Accessing the Articles - Full portal search page

  1. Click on the search icon on the left-side main menu to access the Full portal search
  2. The full portal search page would be available as an overlay window

  1. You can click on the minimize button on the top right to retract this screen
  2. Click on the Articles tab below the search bar
  3. Type in the keyword to perform a search
  4. The relevant article/category page results are populated as you type the keyword

    The search results would show the following information

    • Article title
    • Highlighted search keyword
    • The instance where the keyword is present in the article/category page
    • Version
    • Language
  5. You can also narrow down their results using the filters available below the search bar
  6. Click on the desired search result, and the Article preview blade appears
  7. You can view the article/category page content here

  1. To read the article in an expanded view, click on the Fullscreen button. Click the Previous (<) or Next (>) button to navigate between the search result articles
  2. Click on the X at the top of the blade to close and view the search results
  3. You can navigate to the respective article in the editor to perform any actions on the article. Click on the Go to article button at the top

Filters

a. Version/Language

Click on the dropdown and select the Version(s) and Language(s) for the search results. The language selection can be found when the Version dropdown is further expanded. If you want to search across all the available version(s) and language(s), either toggle on the Select all or don't apply this filter.

When the selection is made, click the Apply button. To clear the existing version/language filters, click the Clear button. To clear the existing filters, and reset the search, click the Clear filter(s) (X) icon.

b. Visibility

Filter the search results based on the visibility state of the article. There are three selections available, None, Visible, and Hidden. The None would be the default selection which means no filter is applied.

Click the Apply button when the visibility selection is made. To clear the existing filters, and reset the search, click the Clear filter(s) (X) icon.

c. Status

Filter the search results based on the article status. There are four selections available, None, New article, Draft, and Published. The None status would be the default selection which means no filter is applied.

Select the desired filter, and the articles are narrowed down based on the selection. To clear the existing filters, and reset the search, click the Clear filter(s) (X) icon.

d. Contributors

Filter the search results based on the article contributors. Click the Contributors dropdown and the list of contributors appear. Use the Search by username field to search for the desired contributors.

Select the checkbox of the desired contributor(s) and click Apply. The articles are narrowed down based on the selection. To clear the existing contributor filters, click the Clear button. To clear the existing filters, and reset the search, click the Clear filter(s) (X) icon.

e. Tags

Users can apply this filter to narrow down the article/category page associated with the specific tag(s). Use the search tags bar to find the tag required. Users can select multiple tags.

When the tag(s) selection is made, click the Apply button. To clear the existing tag filters, click the Clear button. To clear the existing filters, and reset the search, click the Clear filter(s) (X) icon.

f. Updated on

Users can filter the results using the Updated date range. The selections available are 7 days, 30 days, 3 months, 1 year, and specific date range selection.

When the updated on selection is done, click on the Apply button. To clear the existing date filters and reset the search, click on the Clear button. To clear the existing filters, and reset the search, click the Clear filter(s) (X) icon.

Previous search

If the user closes the Full portal search page and revisits the page, the previous search and the results are available.
